Antique 19th-Century Indian Brass Water Pot
Hand-Engraved with Kalma & Quranic Verse | Sacred Islamic Heritage Artefact
This 19th-century Indian brass water pot is a rare example of Islamic devotional artistry, carrying both historic and spiritual significance. Beautifully hand-engraved, the vessel bears the Kalma (Shahada):
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ
“There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
It also features a Quranic verse from Surah Al-Anfal (8:10):
وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
“And victory is not except from Allah. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.”
Treasured by Muslim households for generations, such vessels were believed to bring barakah (blessings) to families, with water stored inside carrying symbolic purity and protection.
